History
On February 11, 1957, Pope Pius XII issued the bull Quandoquidem adoranda , which established the diocese of Lomas de Zamora, separating it from the archdiocese of La Plata .
On April 10, 1961 and July 18, 1969 the diocese of Lomas de Zamora ceded part of its territory to form the dioceses of Avellaneda (today - the diocese of Avellaneda - Lanus ) and San Justo, respectively.
On April 24, 2001, the Diocese of Lomas de Zamora transferred another part of the territory of the Diocese of Avellaneda, which was simultaneously renamed the Diocese of Avellaneda-Lanus.
