Distribution

East Africa : Tanzania [1] .

Description

Small scales , diameter of adult females from 1.5 to 2 mm, body shape rounded; the main color is brown. Males are elongated, length 1.5 mm, width 1 mm, whitish-yellow. They feed on the juices of such aronnikovye plants as Anthurium andreanum ( Aroid , Araceae ). The species was first described in 1910 by the German entomologist Karl Lindinger ( Karl Hermann Leonhard Lindinger , 1879-1956) as Spinaspidiotus furcraeicolus [1] . The taxon Aspidiotus furcraeicola is included in the genus Aspidiotus along with the taxa A. albopicta , A. aliena , A. oliveirae [1] [2] .
