Beginning of the path
In 1899 - 1904, he studied at the Military Medical Academy , received a diploma with honors. In the same year, the Academy Conference was awarded the prize of Academician N. N. Zinin for his work “On Condensation Products of Fat Aldehydes with Phenol”.
In May 1906, he was appointed supernumerary laboratory assistant at the Department of Organic Chemistry of Kazan University , led by prof. A.M. Zaitsev . Under his leadership, A. I. Luniak worked on the synthesis of high molecular weight tertiary alcohols by the interaction of acid anhydrides with haloalkyls in the presence of zinc and magnesium.
In 1908 he was sent for two years with a scientific purpose abroad to prepare for a professorship. During a business trip, he worked at the 1st Chemical University of Berlin University under the guidance of prof. G. E. Fisher .
In January 1910 he was elected privat-docent at the Department of Chemistry of Kazan University .
In 1914, he defended a dissertation at the University of Kiev, “On the Effects of Organochlorine Zinc Halides and Organochloride Halides on Monobasic Fatty Acid Anhydrides,” and was awarded the Master of Chemistry degree.
Work in Perm
In July 1917 he was appointed an ordinary professor at Perm University in the Department of Physiological Chemistry, where he taught organic chemistry at the Faculty of Medicine, and since 1921 - at the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics.
One of the organizers of the Department of Organic Chemistry of the University [1] . A.I. Lunyak, who worked at PSU since its inception, is ranked among the scientists - the founders of the university. [2]
1918 - 1919 - the first dean of the agronomic (at that time - agricultural and forestry) faculty of Perm University [3] . Due to the fact that this faculty, having separated from the university, gave rise to an agricultural institute, A. I. Luniak is also ranked among the founders of this university [4] .
1920–1921 - Dean of the Physics and Mathematics Faculty of Perm University ??.
1921–1922 - Dean of the Faculty of Medicine of Perm University .
1923 - 1924 - Head of the Department of Organic Chemistry, Perm University . [five]
1922–1924 - Head of the scientific and educational part of Perm University .
Work in Kazan
In 1924 he moved to Kazan, worked as a professor at the Department of Technical Chemistry, Kazan University . In this position, the status for the first time organized at the University of student practice. [6]
1925 - 1926 - Rector of the Kazan Institute of Agriculture and Forestry .
1926 - 1928 - rector of Kazan University . [7]
In 1936 he headed the Department of Organic Chemistry , created at the Kazan State Medical Institute .
During the Great Patriotic War, he took an active part as an expert in a commission organized by the Presidium of the Academy of Sciences ( 1943 ) to examine one of the branches of the defense industry, and organized in his laboratory the production of a number of scarce medicines for hospitals and medical institutions in Kazan.
In 1947 he was awarded the degree of Doctor of Chemical Sciences . During the time he was in charge of the department, a methodology was developed for teaching organic chemistry at a medical university.
