Production of filming
Azif Kapadia began working on the film in 2001, the year when he graduated from the Royal College of Art [1] . This was his first feature film. [1] The film was produced by companies from Germany, the UK and France.
Story
At the heart of the plot is the story of the Hindu Lafkadia, who once served as the security chief of the cruel ruler of Rajasthan . Due to circumstances, Lafkadia, refused to violence and sheathed his sword, the warrior vowed never to kill anyone again and decided to return to his homeland. The enraged ruler sends assassins in the footsteps of Lafkadia.
Recognition
At the 56th BAFTA Awards Award Ceremony, the film was announced in three categories and won the Best British Film nomination. Also, the film was nominated for an Oscar as the best film in a foreign language , but did not receive awards [2] .
Release
The film was shown at film festivals in London, Karlovy Vary, Busan, Edinburgh, Rotterdam, Montreal, Calcutta, Gothenburg, Mumbai and Boston.
