Geography
It is located in the Ubukuno-Orongoy valley on the southern branch of the East Siberian Railway ( Ulan-Ude - Naushki line ), on the northwestern side of the Kyakhtinsky tract , near the Khargan ulus, the center of the rural settlement. It is located 36 km northeast of the district center, the city of Gusinoozersk , and 72 km southwest of Ulan-Ude .
