Ornithonyssus (lat.) Is a genus of ticks from the Macronyssidae family of the order Mesostigmata . There are everywhere. Ectoparasites of birds and mammals, some species harm poultry [1] [2] .

Description
Small oval mites, body length less than 1 mm. Have only one dorsal shield. Legs slender, long. Parasites on small mammals (rodents) and birds [1] [3] .

About 30 species. In Australia, 3 species. For the USSR fauna 3 types were indicated [1] [2]
