Biography
Vladimir Streltsov was born on June 24, 1909 in Samarkand . He graduated from four courses at the faculty in Moscow . In 1933, Streltsov was called up for service in the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army . in 1935 he graduated from the Voroshilovgrad Military Aviation Pilot School, in 1941 - advanced training courses for command personnel. Since December of the same year - on the fronts of World War II [1] .
By July 1944, Guard Lieutenant Colonel Vladimir Streltsov was the navigator of the 75th Guards Assault Air Regiment ( 1st Guards Assault Air Division , 1st Air Army , 3rd Belorussian Front ). By that time, he had made 202 sorties to attack accumulations of military equipment and manpower of the enemy, inflicting heavy losses on him [1] .
By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR dated February 23, 1945, the Guard , Lieutenant Colonel Vladimir Streltsov was awarded the high title of Hero of the Soviet Union with the awarding of the Order of Lenin and the Gold Star medal [1] .
After the war, Streltsov continued to serve in the Soviet Army. In 1954, with the rank of colonel, he was transferred to the reserve. He lived in Rostov-on-Don . He died on July 19, 1978 [1] .
Rewards
He was also awarded five orders of the Red Banner , orders of Alexander Nevsky , World War 1 degree and the Red Star , a number of medals [1] .
