According to the United States Census Bureau , the county’s total area is 735.561 km 2 , of which 657.861 km 2 are land and 77.700 km 2 or 10.500% are water bodies.

There are 2 681 residential buildings in the district, with a building density of about 4.00 buildings per km 2 . Racial composition of the population: white - 98.80%, African - Americans - 0.04%, Native Americans ( Indians ) - 0.31%, Asians - 0.18%, Hawaiians - 0.00%, representatives of other races - 0.16 %, representatives of two or more races - 0.51%. Hispanics accounted for 0.63% of the population, regardless of race .
