1000 Forms of Fear

“1000 Forms of Fear” is the sixth studio album by Australian singer-songwriter Siia Ferler , released July 4, 2014 via Monkey Puzzle Records, RCA Records, [12] [13] . The producers were Greg Karstin , Diplo and Jesse Shatkin [14] . The disc immediately led the charts of the United States ( Billboard 200 ), Australia and Canada [15] . The lead single “ Chandelier ” received 4 Grammy nominations in the categories Best Song of the Year , Best Record of the Year , Best Solo Pop Performance and Best Video at the 57th Grammy Awards [16] .

History

September 13, 2013 Sia Ferler announced the end of the sixth album with producer Greg Karstin Picture Soundtrack for Francis Lawrence's The Hunger Games: Catching Fire . The first official single from the album was released in digital format on March 17, 2014 [18] . On May 6, a video clip of the song “ Chandelier ” was released featuring a dancing little girl in a white wig [19] . The clip became a real sensation, and the single was a success. On April 18, 2014, it was announced that Ferler's new album title would be 1000 Forms of Fear [20] . On May 14, 2014 Ferler presented the cover of the new disc and its tracklist and announced the release date (July 8) [21] . On May 19, 2014, the lead single “ Chandelier ” and the video clip accompanying it were recreated during the live performance of the song on starring 11-year-old actress, dancer and teleperson Maddy Ziegler dancing in front of an audience , and Ferler, singing and facing the wall [22] .

The album was released on July 4, 2014 via Monkey Puzzle Records and RCA Records . In the first week of release, the disc took first place in the US Billboard 200 chart with a circulation of 45,000 copies in the United States [15] . By December 2015, a circulation of 1000 Forms of Fear was 374,000 copies in the United States according to Nielsen SoundScan [23] .

In Australia, the disc debuted in first place on the ARIA Albums Chart on July 20, 2014 and remained on the chart for 20 weeks [24] . In April 2015, the album was certified platinum by the Australian Recording Industry Association for a print run of over 70,000 copies [25]

1000 Forms of Fear received generally positive reviews from music critics and online publications, such as Metacritic [1] , AllMusic , Drowned in Sound , The Guardian [5] , The Independent , MusicOMH , PopMatters [8] , Rolling Stone [ 9] , Slant Magazine [10] , Spin [11] , The AV Club [3] , AnyDecentMusic? , Pop Appraisal [26] .
