History
It was deployed in the Baranavichy - Grodno - Lida area , defending communications and important enterprises from air attacks. The district administration was stationed in Baranovichi .
As part of the army during the Great Patriotic War from June 22, 1941 to November 24, 1941. From the first day of the war, the units that were part of the district began to repel enemy air raids. However, there was a lack of ammunition throughout the area. So, the two-division regiment of the 518th regiment of the 85-mm anti-aircraft guns in Baranovichi shot its ammunition during June 22, 1941, and left without ammunition, removed from position. The district administration, together with the 518th anti-aircraft artillery regiment, which completely preserved the materiel, by the evening of June 29, 1941, having passed through the positions of the 13th army , arrived in Mogilev . 64 anti-aircraft guns of the 751st anti-aircraft regiment for two morning hours on June 22, 1941 made full use of the existing shells and also left the city. [1] The 229th separate anti-aircraft battalion in Lida initially reflected the attacks of small groups of aircraft (for the first three Dornier Do 17 aircraft that destroyed the train, fire did not open), reported on one destroyed aircraft and 118 missiles used up. Then, during the day, the bombing intensified, the division reported on 4 downed and several damaged aircraft and 880 shells used up. This division eventually also arrived in Mogilev.
The district administration with the 518th anti-aircraft regiment since the first of July has been participating in the battles for Mogilev , suffers losses. So, out of 30 guns of one division after the battle on July 1, 1941, only 8. remained. [2]
