Frigate Description
One of two small courier-type sailing frigates. According to various sources, the length of the vessel ranged from 19.8 to 21.34 meters , the width from 5.1 to 5.49 meters , and the draft from 2.6 to 2.74 meters . The armament of the vessel consisted of 12 guns [2] [3] .
Service History
The frigate was laid in Arkhangelsk in January 1702, was launched on May 24 of the same year in the presence of Peter I. After launching it became part of the White Sea Flotilla of Russia. The construction was carried out by ship masters G. A. Menshikov and E. Skvortsov [2] [3] .
He took part in the Northern War . On August 5, 1702, he left Arkhangelsk as part of a detachment and by August 16 approached the Nyukhcha wharf, where on August 17 he was pulled ashore and dragged on runners along the Osudarevaya Road to Povenets . On August 27 it was launched into Lake Onega and transported along the Svir River to Lake Ladoga . On October 11, during the capture of the Swedish fortress, Noteburg blocked it from the Neva [2] .
Commanders
In 1702, J. Walront served as commander of the frigate of the Holy Spirit [2] .
