Working on a dream

“Working on a Dream” is the sixteenth studio album of American rock singer Bruce Springsteen , released January 27, 2009 and recorded on Columbia Records with his early band E Street Band . The producer of the disc was Brendan O'Brien . The disc immediately topped the main American hit parade Billboard 200 (for the 9th time in the singer’s career) and the British chart UK Albums Chart (for the 8th time) [12] . As a result, the album received the golden status of RIAA [13] .

History

The album was released on January 27, 2009 via Columbia Records . In the first week of release, the disc took first place in the US Billboard 200 chart with a circulation of 224,000 copies in the United States. Earlier in the USA, Bruce Springsteen was the leader with the albums The Rising, The River, Born in the USA, Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band 1975-1985, Tunnel of Love, Greatest Hits, Devils & Dust "and" Magic ". Working on a Dream also debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard charts, Top Rock Albums , Top Digital Albums, and Top Internet Albums . In terms of the number of albums that were in first place on the Billboard 200 , Bruce Springsteen shares 4th place with The Rolling Stones and is second only to three artists in history: The Beatles (they had 19 albums No. 1 in the USA), Jay-Z (11 ) and Elvis Presley (10). In just 17 countries, Bruce's album was No. 1, and in Top 10 it was in almost all regions [12] . In the United States, more than 500 thousand copies were sold and a gold status was obtained from the RIAA [13] .

The Wrestler song (from the 2008 Wrestler movie starring Mickey Rourke) was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Song and won it at the 66th Golden Globe Awards ceremony on January 11, 2009 [14] .
