Balla, Pavel Karlovich

Pavel Karlovich Balla (April 18, 1930, the village of Pavlovets (now - the Vranov nad Toplouu district , Prešov Region , Slovakia ) - 2008, Uzhhorod ) - Ukrainian painter of Hungarian origin. Member of the Union of Artists of the USSR. Member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine since 1967.

In 1950 he graduated from Uzhgorod State Art and Industrial College of Applied Arts. Pupil of Josip Bokshay , Adalbert Erdeli and Roman Selsky .

In 1956, he graduated from the faculty of monumental and decorative painting of the Lviv State Institute of Applied and Decorative Arts (now the Lviv National Academy of Arts ).

P. Balla - monumental artist, landscape painter. One of the classics of the Transcarpathian school of painting. He lived and worked in Uzhgorod.

Brother - Laszlo Balla (1927-2010), Ukrainian and Hungarian poet, prose writer, translator, journalist, editor. Honored Worker of Culture of Ukraine.
