Peliococcus orientalis (lat.) Is a species of Hemoptera insect - coccid of the genus Peliococcus from the mealybug family ( Pseudococcidae [1] ).

Distribution

Central Asia : Turkmenistan (Bamchskogo Ridge) [1] [2] .

Description

They feed on the juices of complex plants, for example, such as Cousinia ( Asteraceae ). The species was first described in 1971 by the Soviet entomologist B. B. Bazarov [1] [3] . Peliococcus orientalis is included in the genus Peliococcus along with the species P. chersonensis (Kiritshenko, 1936) , P. albertaccius , P. balteatus , P. bantu , P. calluneti , P. cycliger , P. courzius , P. daganiae , P. deserticola , P. flaveolus , P. vivarensis , P. zillae, and other taxa [1] .
