Le concert des nations

“Le Concert des Nations” (French: “Harmony of Peoples”, “Consent of Peoples”) - an ensemble of ancient instruments ( baroque orchestra ). Created in 1989 by Jordi Savale for performing instrumental music, mainly from the Baroque and Viennese classics , as well as to accompany (created earlier by the same Saval) the vocal ensemble “Royal Chapel of Catalonia” ( Spanish: La Capella Reial de Catalunya ). The name of the orchestra beats the name of the collection of dance suites by Francois Couperin “Les Nations” (1726, three of the four suites have ethnonymic titles), to which Saval added “concert”, possibly bearing in mind the international (and unstable) composition members of the orchestra. According to the standard classification, “Le Concert des Nations” refers to the type of chamber orchestra .

The orchestra tours extensively, participates in international festivals of ancient music, burns CDs and DVDs (the first record is dated 1989). Since 1990, the orchestra (as well as the Royal Chapel of Catalonia ensemble) has been sponsored by the Department of Culture of the Government of Catalonia [1] .

Orchestras starred in the film "All Morning of the World . "
