Biography

He graduated from Stanford University , then studied with Martin Jenny, to whom he specifically entered the University of Iowa . In 1987, together with his colleagues, he created the organization Bang on a Can , which promotes modern music. He received his doctorate at Yale in 1989 , among his mentors were Lou Harrison and Hans Werner Henz .

Since 2008, he has been teaching at the Yale School of Music . He actively collaborates with contemporary choreographers - Edouard Locke , Susan Marshall, Benjamin Milpier , Shen Wei .
