Pulaski County is located in Illinois , USA . Officially formed in 1843 , got its name in honor of the American military and statesman of Polish descent Casimir Pulawski . As of 2010 , the population was 6 161 people.

In the district there are 3,353 residential buildings, with a building density of about 6 buildings per km 2 . Racial composition of the population: white - 66.52%, African - Americans - 31.00%, Native Americans ( Indians ) - 0.14%, Asians - 0.93%, Hawaiians - 0.00%, representatives of other races - 0.27 %, representatives of two or more races - 1.14%. Hispanics made up 1.46% of the population, regardless of race .
Of the total number of households , 31.20% are children under the age of 18, 47.40% of households are married couples living together, 15.80% of households are single women without a spouse, 32.90% of households households are not related to families , 30.00% of households consist of one person, 15.50% of households consist of elderly people (65 years and older), living alone. The average household size is 2.44 people and the average family size is 3.03 people.
