South America : Brazil (Sao Paulo) [1] .
Description
Small scales , female body shape rounded, convex (length 0.5 mm, width 0.32 mm), the main color is black. They feed on the juices of myrtle plants, for example, such as Eugenia ( Myrtaceae ). The species was first described in 1937 by entomologist H. S. Lepage ( Lepage, HS ) as Costalimaspis cheloniformis Lepage, 1937 [1] . The taxon Vinculaspis cheloniformis is included in the genus Vinculaspis Ferris 1942 together with the taxa V. atibaiensis , V. inclusa , V. laniata , V. lepagei , V. mamillata , V. mendicula , V. montei , V. virgata [1] [2] [3] [4] .
