History

Under the Western Han Empire, Linshui County (陵水 县) existed here; at the end of the Eastern Han Empire, he was annexed to Lishi County.

Under the Northern Zhou empire, the districts of Utu (乌 突 县), Dinghu (定 胡 县) and Kuhu (窟 胡 县) were created in this territory. Under the Sui Empire, in 581, Utu County was renamed Taihe (太和县), and Kuhu County was renamed Shuhua (修 化 县). Under the Tang Empire, in 620, Taihe County was renamed Linquan (临泉县). Under the Jin Empire, in 1123, Linquan County was renamed Linshui (临水 县), and in 1195, Dinghu County was renamed Menmen (孟 门 县).

During the reign of the Mongols, Linshui County was again renamed to Linquan in 1261, and in 1337 it was elevated to the status of Lingzhou Region (области 州), however, there were no districts subordinate to the region, the territory was controlled directly by the regional authorities. Under the Ming Empire, in 1369 the region was demoted to a county - this is how Lingxian County appeared.

In 1949, the Xingxiang Special District (兴县 专区) was established, and the county became part of it. In 1952, the Xingxiang Special District was disbanded, and the county became part of the Yuqi Special Region (榆次 专区). In 1958, Yuyi Special District was renamed the Jinzhong Special Region (晋中 专区). In 1967, the Jinzhong Special District was renamed the Jinzhong District (晋中 地区).

In 1971, Luiliang County (吕梁 地区) was formed, and the county became part of it.

According to the Decree of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China of October 23, 2003, since 2004, Luiliang County was disbanded, and instead of it, the Luiliang City District was formed.

Administrative Division

The county is divided into 13 villages and 10 volosts .

Notes

  1. ↑ In accordance with the rules of the Russian name of Chinese toponyms, if the Chinese name consists of one syllable, then the Chinese word is added to it, indicating the type of toponym ("county", "mountain", "river", etc.) so that the Russian name was at least two-fold.
