Biography
He came from the Alsatian noble clan Danzas , who settled in Colmar , where Jean-Baptiste d'Anzas was born on September 4, 1738. Jean-Baptiste studied at the Jesuit School, then at the Faculty of Law, University of Strasbourg; April 20, 1763 married Sophia de Gerrar (d. 1794). In Oberbronn , on January 7, 1764, their son Charles was born. Jean-Baptiste d'Anzas was the royal prosecutor of the Supreme Council of Alsace and, having been sentenced by the revolutionary tribunal to execution, fled to Russia, leaving his wife in France; lived for some time in Mitava , then settled on the donation of Baron Buddha-Messmacher, Kempolovo Manor, Tsarskoye Selo County , where he died around 1820 [1] .
Charles d'Anzas was a student at the University of Strasbourg around 1784. He left for Russia and, having entered the Russian military service on January 1, 1786 - as a sergeant in the Notburg infantry regiment , became known as Karl Ivanovich Danzas. In the same year he was appointed translator to the headquarters of General-General Earl Elmpt . While with him, he advanced in military service, successively holding the posts of secretary, adjutant and adjutant general . In 1796 it was renamed Prime Majors .
In 1798, Danzas was identified as lieutenant colonel in the St. Petersburg Grenadier Regiment , which, being promoted to colonel (1799), he commanded from 05/30/1799 to 09/14/1800. Then he was promoted to major general (09/14/1800) and appointed chief of the Tauride Grenadier Regiment . Since April 6, 1801 he was the commander of the Tauride Grenadier Regiment. participated in the Russian-Prussian-French war . In 1807 he was dismissed from service "for illness, with a uniform and pension."
After the restoration, the Bourbons spent some time at home in Alsace, but later returned to Russia, where he died on May 15 ( 27 ), 1831
Family
He was married twice, to Baroness Korf of the von Paddern clan. From her first marriage, on Dorothea Korf - daughter Julia Dorothea Anneta (Julia Karlovna; 10.26.1795, Riga -?), A graduate of the Smolny Institute (XIII edition, 1812), maid of honor . Prince Ekaterina Pavlovna .
