Aonidiella tsugae (lat.) Is a species of half-winged insects - coccid of the genus Aonidiella from the family Scaras ( Diaspididae ) ^[1] .

Description

Small flat scales , body shape elongated (nipple-shaped); the main color is dark brown. They feed on juices of conifers such as Tsuga chinensis ( Pine , Pinaceae ) ^[1] . The taxon Aonidiella tsugae is included in the genus Acutaspis together with the taxa A. aurantii , A. comperei , A. araucariae , A. orientalis , A. taxus , A. tectaria , A. tinerfensis , A. eugeniae , A. pini , A. rex , A. yehudithae . The name A. tsugae is named after the fodder plants Tsuga , on which it was first discovered ^[1] ^[2] ^[3] ^[4] .
