Biography
Michael C. Williams was born and raised in Brooklyn , New York , in the family of his African American father from Southern California and his mother from Nassau , Bahamas [2] [3] . He attended George Westinghouse Career and Technical Education High School [4] . According to DNA analysis, Williams is partly descended from the Mende people living in Sierra Leone [5] .
Career
Williams entered the National Black Theater in New York . After he got a job at a pharmaceutical company. Inspired by Janet Jackson's Rhythm Nation 1814 , he left school and work, contrary to his family’s wishes, to continue his career as a dancer. During the year, Williams attended record and dance studios offering work. He got the job of a dancer in the music tour of singer Kim Sims , thanks to which he appeared as a dancer in video clips and on tours of George Michael , Madonna and others, and also worked as a model. In 1994, Williams directed the video for Crystal Waters to the song “100% Pure Love” as a choreographer. [6] [7]
In 2002, Williams gained fame for his role in the television series " wiretap " [8] . After that, he began appearing in episodes of popular American TV shows such as Law and Order: Special Corps , Spy , Boston Lawyers , and CSI: Crime Scene . In 2007, Williams played in the film Ben Affleck “ Goodbye, Baby, Goodbye ” [6] , and in 2008 in the film “ The Incredible Hulk ” in the episodic role of the Harlem witness.
In 2009, Williams got a role in the series Philanthropist . In the same year, he played in the films Life in War and Road . In 2010, he won the lead role in another series, The Underground Empire [9] , where he played until 2013. After, Williams appeared in the series " Community " [10] , as well as in the films " Snitch " and " 12 Years of Slavery ." In 2014, he played in the films Robocop and Doomsday 2 . He served as a prototype for the character "Irish" in the game Battlefield 4.
