Born in 1964 in Sao Paulo . In 1983, he won the silver medal of the Pan American Games. In 1987, he won the gold medal of the Pan American Games and the bronze medal of the World Cup. In 1988 he became the champion of the Olympic Games in Seoul . In 1992, he participated in the Olympic Games in Barcelona , but there he became only 9th. In 1993, he won the silver medal of the World Cup. In 1996, he won a bronze medal at the Atlanta Olympics. In 1997, he again won the silver medal of the World Cup.
At the end of his sports career, he took up politics. He is a member of the Republican Party , since 2004 he has been the head of the São Paulo City Council.
