Marc de Mar ( Dutch: Marc de Maar ; born February 15, 1984 , Assen , Netherlands ) is a professional road racing cyclist representing Curacao and playing for the UnitedHealthcare team.

Career
Marc de Maar was born in the Dutch city of Assen . As a child in winter, he liked to skate in winter, and in summer - on a bicycle .
In 2000, de Maar won several criteria in the Netherlands and signed a two-year contract with the Rabobank youth team. In his first year, de Maar won several races and finished the 18th race of the World Championship among young riders. The second year he performed so well and the contract was not renewed. A resident of Curacao found another team - Löwik-Tegeltoko . In 2003, he performed better, although he did not have victories. However, the Rabobank team decided to sign an agreement with him again. In 2004 and 2005, he represented the colors of the Rabobank Continental Team . In those years, he won several races, and in 2006 became a member of the Rabobank professional team of the top division.
In the 2011 season, de Maar signed a contract with the Belgian Quick Step team.
But still, he achieved the main successes as part of UnitedHealthcare , which he has been advocating for since 2012. He has won the 5th stage of the Tour of Britain (2012), the mountain classification of the Tour of Turkey (2014), the second place in the overall standings of the Tour of Norway and the victory in the 2nd stage (2014).
Also, Mark de Maar repeatedly became the champion of his country in cycling. In 2010, 2011 and 2012, he won both the group race and the split-start race. And in 2011, a resident of Curacao won a gold medal in the group race at the Pan American Games .
