It is located 70 km (in a straight line) south-west of the regional center of the city of Western Dvina , 300 km from Tver , in the extreme south-western corner of the Tver region.
It is located on the right bank of the Mezha River at its confluence with the Western Dvina , along which the border of the Tver Region with the Smolensk and Pskov Regions passes.

History
At the end of the 18th-beginning of the 20th centuries, the village belonged to the Velizh county of Vitebsk province . In Soviet times, the village was part of the Pskov province , Leningrad region , Western region , Smolensk region , Velikiye Luki region . In 1957, as part of the Ilyinsky district, she moved to the Kalinin region . Since 1960, as part of the Zapadnodvinsky district .
