Biography
Born February 20, 1922 in Gorobil (near Pozhega). He graduated from Uzhitsky gymnasium, studied at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Belgrade. Before the war, was a revolutionary youth movement.
At the front of the People’s Liberation War since 1941, in the same year he was admitted to the Communist Party. He served in the Uzhitsky partisan detachment, the 2nd proletarian shock brigade and the 4th krainsky shock brigade (as part of the political department). Since October 1943, a member of the Central Committee of the Union of Communist Youth of Yugoslavia. Since May 1944, a member of the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Joint Union of Antifascist Youth of Yugoslavia. The war ended with the rank of reserve colonel.
After the war, he worked further in the Union of Communist Youth: Secretary of the Serbian Pokrainsky Committee, head of the Central Council of People's Youth of Yugoslavia. He graduated from the Higher Political School. The delegate to the meeting of the Anti-Fascist Assembly of the People's Liberation of Serbia .
He was a member of the Belgrade City Committee of the Socialist Union of the Working People . From 1961 to 1964 - the mayor of Belgrade (the head of the urban assembly). From 1960 to 1964 - Chairman of the Yugoslav Olympic Committee. He was a member of the Union Executive Chamber, the Union Committee of the SSRN of Yugoslavia. He was also a member of the Central Committee of the UCC and the Central Committee of the Union of Communists of Serbia. Member of the Union Assembly of the SFRY.
He was awarded a number of orders and medals, including the commemorative partisan medal of 1941, the Orders of Brotherhood and Unity, “For Merit to the People” (two degrees) and “For Courage”.
