Giftboard is a free application for mobile devices designed to send gifts by users (products and services of institutions in Moscow from your phone.

Project History

The work on Giftboard began in 2011 after the project’s founders Rudolf Mirzoev and Stanislav Bulygin decided to reorient their previous startup related to the coupon business. [1] On February 27, 2014, a version of the application for the Android platform was released. [one]

Use

To make a gift on the Giftboard, it is enough to know the recipient's phone number or his unique Gift ID, which is created during registration in the application. Payment of gifts is made by credit card or SMS message. [1] You can receive gifts at the address or show the received QR-code in the partner's institution. [one]

Business Model

The monetization of the service is based on a commission from partner companies. Giftboard concludes contracts with producers of goods and services, which deduct from the Giftboard from 5 to 25% of each gift purchased in the application. The size of the commission is not fixed and depends on the type of goods and the seller’s mark-up. [one]
