Origin
Variety of black currant “Karaidel” was bred in 1995 by breeders M. G. Avdeeva and N. G. Abdyukova ( BNIIISKH ) by crossing the varieties of currant “Memory of Michurin” and “Compact”.
Since 2001, it has been included in the State Register of varieties approved for use in the Ural region.
Variety characteristics
The bush of black currant Karaidel is medium-tall and slightly spreading. Shoots are straight, dark pink, leaves are dark green, wrinkled, medium-sized three-lobed. The flowers are large, with a pink color, bell-shaped. Fruits weighing about 1.2 g, sweet and sour taste. Variety of late ripening. Productivity up to 120 kg / ha.
Chemical composition: solids - 21.7%, total sugars - 10.8%, titratable acidity - 2.2%, ascorbic acid - 192.0 mg / 100 g, pectin substances - 1.1%.
The variety is highly winter-resistant, average productivity 12.3 t / ha, self-fertility is good, slightly affected by fungal diseases, drought-resistant.
Grade advantages: compact form of a bush, large berries. Disadvantages of the variety: has a tendency to self-thickening.
