Creation History
The song was written by George Harrison in 1968, shortly after the group returned from Rishikesh [1] . The acoustic demo version of the song was recorded in May 1968 in the house of Harrison [1] . This version is not officially released, although it has been used on bootlegs [2] .
The group viewed this song as a candidate for inclusion in the “ White Album ” and even worked on it in the studio for four days (August 7-9 and 12, 1968). The song is replete with various size changes, so the work on it required a very large number of duplicates [3] . However, it was decided not to include this song in the album, as a result of which the result of that work remained unpublished until 1996, when the song was published in the album Anthology 3 (the album features the so-called “take 102”, mixed and shortened by Jeff Emeric for the album [2] , whose publication was planned in 1985, but was never implemented) [1] .
In the recording of the Beatles version participated [1] :
- George Harrison - vocals, guitars
- Paul McCartney - Bass
- Chris Thomas - Electric Harpsichord
- Ringo Starr - drums
