Nikolaos Diliiannis ( Greek Νικόλαος Δηλιγιάννης ; Athens , 1841 - Paris , January 5, 1910 [1] ) - Greek diplomat of the late XIX - early XX centuries. In 1895 he was the Prime Minister of Greece .

Biography
Nikolaos Dilijannis was born in 1841 in Athens. His father Petros Dilijannis came from a family of noble landowners from Langadia Arcadia. He studied law at the University of Athens . He followed a diplomatic career. Initially, he was appointed secretary of the Greek embassy in Constantinople (1874-1880), after which he served as ambassador of Greece in Belgrade ( 1881 - 1885 ), in Paris ( 1885 - 1893 ) and Madrid .
In 1899, he was the representative of Greece at the Hague Conference . In January 1895, he was appointed by King George (ministerial) Prime Minister. The government of Nikolaos Dilijannis held the elections in May of that year, in which his cousin [2] Theodoros Dilijannis won. On May 31, 1895, Nikolaos Dilijannis officially handed over the rule of the country to Theodoros Dilijannis. Nikolaos Dilijannis was again appointed ambassador to Paris and remained in this post until his death. Nikolaos died in Paris on January 5, 1910. [3]
Family
Dilijannis was married. His wife was from the Baltadzi clan and was the sister of the royal court Baltazi and Mrs. Tombazi, the wife of the Greek ambassador to Belgrade. The couple had three children. The daughter and son, an officer of the Navy, died before the death of Dilijannis himself. The third child, Petros Dilijannis, became a diplomat, was the secretary of the Greek Embassy in Washington , was transferred to the Embassy in Paris and since 1890 headed the consular department.
