Mark (or Manius ) Acylius Caninus or Canianus ( lat.Marcus Acilius Caninus; (Manius) Acilius Caninus; or Canianus ) - a Roman military leader from the middle of the 1st century BC e.
He came from the Atzilian family and was a legate of Gaius Julius Caesar in 48 BC. e. during the civil war. Together with Lucius Stacius Murk, Kanin fought on the Epirus coast against the troops of the Pompeans Marc Kalpurnia Bibulus and Lucius Scribonius Libon. In gratitude to Caesar, after Kanin was praetor in 47 BC. e., appointed him proconsul of Sicily. In preparation for the campaign against the Parthians, Kanin was sent by Caesar with the army to Macedonia, where he remained after his murder. The fate of Mark after this is unknown.
