Biography
He was born on August 6, 1913 in the village of Dneprovskoye, now a urban-type settlement of the Verkhne-Dnieper district of the Dnipropetrovsk region . He graduated from 7 classes. He worked in the Mundybashsky timber industry enterprise in the Tashtagol district of the Kemerovo region .
In the Red Army since 1942. In the army since June 1942. He fought on the Western, Central and 1st Belorussian fronts. He participated in defensive battles in the Yelets direction, in the Oryol, Chernihiv-Pripyat, Gomel-Rechytsa offensive operations. Was injured.

July 4, 1944 the calculation of the gun took a favorable position in the area of the village of Uzlyana in the Pukhovichsky district of the Minsk region and opened fire on enemy firing points. With the dawn, with the support of artillery and mortar fire, the infantry units of our troops went on the attack. Opponents, having an advantage in manpower and technology, put up stubborn resistance, sometimes turning into counterattacks. Taking a favorable position, the Tokarev’s gun crew allowed enemy chains to be fired at a direct shot and opened fire. Having destroyed the advanced forces of the enemy, the gunners moved the fire to the machine gun points. In this battle, Tokarev was wounded in the leg, but continued firing. When the gun commander died, the junior sergeant Tokarev replaced him and, together with the loader, being in the direction of the main attack, repelled five more enemy counterattacks. During the battle, he received another severe wound, but continued to lead the calculation. Reflecting another attack of the enemy and causing him considerable damage, Vasily Tokarev died from wounds right on the battlefield.
By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of August 22, 1944, for the courage, bravery and heroism of the guard, Junior Sergeant Tokarev, Vasily Fedorovich, was posthumously awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union .
Awarded the Order of Lenin , a medal.
He was buried in the town of Maryina Gorka, Pukhovichsky district, Minsk region . The name of the Hero is the street, a bust is installed in the village of Kaz, Kemerovo Region
