Biography
He was born on October 1, 1906 in the village of Chizha Pervaya (now the Taskalinsky district of the West Kazakhstan region of the Republic of Kazakhstan ) into a peasant family. Secondary technical education. He worked as a driver.
In the Red Army in 1922-1928 and from 1941, he was called up by the Tashkent City Military Commissariat of the Uzbek SSR. At the front in World War II from November 1941. In 1943 he graduated from the Chelyabinsk Tank Technical School.
The senior driver of the 26th Guards Separate Heavy Tank Regiment of the Guards, Lieutenant Technician Anatoly Skorobogatov, distinguished himself on June 21, 1944 in the battle for the Tammisuo railway station.
When breaking through the heavily fortified enemy defenses, the driver-mechanic Skorobogatov, skillfully maneuvering the tank, destroyed two anti-tank guns and a mortar.
When in the course of the battle his combat vehicle was hit, the guard, technician-lieutenant Skorobogatov, machine gun fire destroyed up to three dozen enemy soldiers and officers. Then, as part of the crew, he fought in the encirclement for seven hours. Having spent all the ammunition, the tankers did not leave the tank set on fire by the enemies.
He was buried in a mass grave in the city of Vyborg, Leningrad Region .
By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of March 24, 1945, for the exemplary performance of the combat missions of the command and the courage and heroism of the guard shown, Lieutenant Skorobogatov Anatoly Markovich was posthumously awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union .
He was awarded the Order of Lenin , Red Star .
In Vyborg, in the area of the feat of tankers, a memorial plaque was installed.
