Biography
Born on February 12, 1923 in the village of Obutkovskoye of the Obutkovsky village council of the Makushinsky volost of the Kurgan district of the Chelyabinsk province (now the Makushinsky district of the Kurgan region ) in a peasant family. Graduated from 5 classes. He worked at the Mayak collective farm.
In March 1942, he was drafted into the Red Army by the Makusha RVC of the Chelyabinsk region. In the spare regiment received a specialty sapper.
Since October 1942, a member of the Komsomol .
At the front in World War II from January 1943. The entire battle path was part of the 8th separate guards airborne sapper battalion. He participated in the battle on the Kursk Bulge, crossed the Dnieper, liberated the cities of Zhytomyr, Proskurov, fought in Hungary and Czechoslovakia .
In March 1944, during the battles near the Ukrainian city of Proskurov, he and his unit installed four anti-tank minefields under enemy fire, and he personally set 110 mines. Two days later, on the offensive, following the front of our battle formations, I discovered an enemy minefield. He quickly completed and marked the passages, thereby saving the lives of Soviet soldiers and ensuring the success of the offensive units. On March 24 near Proskurov, together with his squad, he discovered minefields in two places and neutralized the passages in them, which contributed to the successful advance of the tank units. By order of the Guard of April 19, 1944, Sergeant V. Kamchugov was awarded the Order of Glory of the 3rd degree.
On May 21, 1944, as part of a group of demolitionists, crossed the front line at night and secretly crept up to the automobile bridge near the settlement of Sheshori. The soldiers removed the guard and blew up the bridge, disrupting the important communication of the enemy. Upon returning to the unit after completing a combat mission with grenades and from an assault rifle, he destroyed the enemy machine gun with a calculation, seized the “tongue” and delivered it to the regiment headquarters. By an order of July 7, 1944, he was awarded the Order of Glory of the 2nd degree.
Since August 1944, a candidate member of the CPSU (b) .
On August 27, 1944, being behind enemy lines with an engineering reconnaissance group in the area of the settlement of Dobryv, he met a numerically superior enemy and entered the battle. Struck 4 enemy soldiers, one captured. On September 2 and 3, 1944, under enemy fire, along with the fighters, he mined the approaches to our frontier, personally set more than 70 minutes.
By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of March 24, 1945, he was awarded the Order of Glory of the 1st degree for the exemplary fulfillment of command assignments in battles with the German fascist invaders, becoming the full holder of the Order of Glory.
The war ended in Prague, the capital of Czechoslovakia . Participant of the Victory Parade on Red Square in June 1945.
Since 1945, a member of the CPSU (b) .
After the war, continuing to serve in the army, participated in the destruction of gangs of nationalists in Western Ukraine . In 1947, the foreman V. Kamchugov was demobilized.
He returned to his homeland, in the Makushinsky district. He worked as deputy director of the farm.
Since 1985, he lived in the regional center - the city of Kurgan ( Ryabkovo village [2] ). Participant of the anniversary Victory Parade on May 9, 2000 .
He died on November 23, 2003 at 81 years of age. He was buried in the cemetery of the village of Lesnikovo, Ketovsky district, Kurgan region .
