Biography

Born on January 17, 1922 in a peasant family in the village of Shalamovo, Shalamovsky village council, Shalamovsky volost, Chelyabinsk district, Chelyabinsk province , now the village council is part of the Mishkinsky district of the Kurgan region .

Having received primary education, he worked on a collective farm . Until September 1941, he worked as an electric welder.

In the Worker and Peasant Red Army since September 1941, was drafted by the Kirov RVC of the Chelyabinsk Region. Member of World War II since October 1941. He took part in the battles on the Leningrad (from October 1941 to April 1942), Western (1942-1943) and 3rd Belorussian (from May 1944 until the end of the war) fronts. In battles with the Nazi invaders he was wounded three times. In 1943, he was seriously wounded - a face burn.

Since 1944, a member of the CPSU (b), in 1952 the party was renamed the CPSU .

The sergeant Stepan Deryabin, the commander of the anti-tank rifle squad of the 262 rifle regiment, on July 29, 1944, near the Potmulyn folk factory in the Kaunas region of Lithuania, when breaking through enemy defenses on the Neman River, an armored personnel carrier towing a gun was knocked out of his weapon and killed about ten opponents. By order of the 184th Infantry Division of August 11, 1944 for courage and bravery shown in battles, Senior Sergeant Deryabin Stepan Alexandrovich was awarded the Order of Glory of the 3rd degree.

On October 25, 1944, in a battle southwest of the city of Shakiai, he launched a detachment into the attack, burst into an enemy trench and, in hand-to-hand combat, killed three opponents. He stealthily approached an enemy machine gun, threw grenades at it, which ensured the advance of his unit, was wounded, but remained in service. By order of the 5th Army of January 8, 1945 for courage and bravery shown in battles, Senior Sergeant Deryabin Stepan Alexandrovich was awarded the Order of Glory of the 2nd degree.

From January 13 to February 12, 1945, in the offensive battles south of Königsberg, the foreman Stepan Deryabin disabled more than ten and captured thirteen foot soldiers, hit a machine gun and an assault gun.

By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of April 19, 1945, for the exemplary execution of command assignments in battles with German-enemy invaders, Sergeant Deryabin Stepan Aleksandrovich was awarded the Order of Glory of the 1st degree, becoming the full holder of the Order of Glory.

In 1946, S. A. Deryabin was demobilized from the Armed Forces of the USSR. He lived in the Chelyabinsk region , then in the Khabarovsk Territory . Since 1951 he lived in the city of Chelyabinsk. He worked as a welder at the Chelyabinsk Tractor Plant , and two years later became a huntsman in the hunting farm of the Chelyabinsk Tractor Plant on Lake Maly Sarykul. He worked on this job for about 25 years. For valiant work, the first secretary of the regional party committee, Voropaev, allocated Deryabin a brand new “UAZ”.

After retiring, Stepan Deryabin became seriously ill. He suffered from diabetes , and then his legs refused.

Stepan Alexandrovich Deryabin died on December 4, 1987 . He was buried in Chelyabinsk at the Assumption Cemetery .
