Biography

Born on June 7 (20), 1914 in the village of Dolgoe (now Semiluksky district , Voronezh region ) in a peasant family. He graduated from elementary school. He lived in the city of Voronezh, worked as a painter at a mechanical plant.

On the night of December 5, 1944, radio operator of the division of the 103rd mortar regiment, junior sergeant Pavel Skrylnikov, with the radio station under enemy fire, along with the advanced battalion crossed the Danube river in the Hungarian city of Erci, actively and selflessly participated in repelling enemy counterattacks, and then adjusted the fire mortar batteries.

By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of March 24, 1945, for the exemplary performance of combat missions of command and the courage and heroism shown to this, Junior Sergeant Pavel Afanasevich Skrylnikov was awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Golden Star medal .

After the war, demobilized. He lived in the city of Voronezh. He worked as a house painter at the Electrosignal plant. He died on October 23, 2000 . He was buried at Kominternovsky cemetery .
