Fabian Alberto O'Neill Dominguez ( Spanish: Fabián Alberto O'Neill Domínguez ; born October 14, 1973 , Paso de los Toros , Uruguay ) - Uruguayan footballer , former attacking midfielder , known for playing for Nacional clubs, “ Cagliari ”and the national team of Uruguay . Member of the 2002 World Cup .

Club career

O'Neill is a graduate of the Nacional Club. In 1992, he made his Uruguayan example debut and in the very first season became the champion of Uruguay. Fabian spent three seasons in the team, but did not become the main player, replacing in most matches.

In 1995, he moved to the Italian Cagliari . In his first season, O'Neill flew out of Serie A with the club. The following season, he helped the team return to the elite. In 2000, he moved to Juventus , but because of the high competition he could not make his way to the base and in the offseason he became the football player of Perugia . For six months, Fabian played in 9 matches and scored 1 goal. In the summer of that year, he returned to Cagliari, but, having not played a single match, he returned to his homeland in Nacional. In 2003, O'Neill ended his career.

International Career

In 1993, O'Neill took part in the America's Cup . On June 16, in a group stage match against the US national team, he made his debut for the Uruguayan national team [1] . On August 18, 1999, in a friendly match against Costa Rica, Fabian scored his first goal for the national team .

In 2002, O'Neill got into the team application for participation in the World Cup in Japan, South Korea . At the tournament, he could not enter the field due to an Achilles tendon injury [2] .
