  • March 4 - Philadelphia Underground opened .
  • October 15 - Rue Saint-Denis station ( French Rue Saint-Denis ) of line 3 of the Paris Metro was renamed Reaumur-Sevastopol ( French Réaumur - Sébastopol ) [1] .
  • November 15 - the following stations were opened on line 5 of the Paris Metro: Gare de l'Est , Republik , Oberkampf [1] .
  • In the Berlin underground station on Potsdamer Platz is closed.
  • Entrepreneur and journalist I.P. Taburno designed a highway on overpasses above the Catherine’s Canal in St. Petersburg [2] .
  • Belgian engineers I. Pole and P. F. Levo, railway engineer V. N. Belyaev, technician M. P. Mulkhanov and entrepreneur G. T. Polipov developed a project for a highway along the Tarakanovka River and the Catherine’s Canal in St. Petersburg [2] .
