Bogdan Bogdanovich ( Serb. Bogdan Bogdanovi ; born August 18, 1992 in Belgrade , Yugoslavia ) is a Serbian professional basketball player who plays for the club of the National Basketball Association Sacramento Kings . He was selected in the 2014 NBA draft in the first round under the 27th number by the Phoenix Suns team. Plays as an attacking defender .

The early years

Bogdanovich began to play in Belgrade for the teams of Zvezdar and Zhitko. Later he played for the youth team “ FMP Zheleznik ”. He took part in the international Nike tournament for youth in 2010 [1] .

Career

Club

In September 2010, Bogdanovich signed the first professional contract with the Partizan team [2] . In the Euroleague debut season, the average team scored 5 points and made 1.8 rebounds per match. After Bogdanovich was invited to the national team of Serbia in the summer of 2013, coach Dushko Vuyoshevich began to trust him more, and the player himself got more playing time in the 2013-14 season. In the Euroleague winning match against CSKA in Belgrade, Bogdanovich scored the best record in his career 27 points, scoring 10 of 16 shots from the game [3] . After the match, the player was highly praised by Aleksandr Georgievich , who called him one of the most promising European players [4] . In February, in the Adriatic League draw in the guest mast against Zibona , Bogdanovich scored 32 best points in his career, made 4 rebounds and gave 5 assists [5] . Having played 23 matches in the Euroleague, the player scored an average of 14.8 points, made 3.7 rebounds and assists [6] . In April 2014, along with another Partizan player, Joffrey Laverne was selected to the symbolic team of the Adriatic League tournament 2013-14 [7] [8] . In May 2014, the Euroleague Rising Star received a prize; voting was held among the coaches of 24 Euroleague teams [9] . Partizan ended the season by winning the 13th Serbia championship , defeating 3-1 in the final series of eternal rivals from Crvena Zvezda [10] . Bogdanovich became the MVP of the final, gaining an average of 30.8 points, making 4.8 rebounds and giving 4.2 assists per match [11] .

In the 2014 NBA draft, he was selected under the 27th overall number by the Phoenix Suns team [12] [13] .

On July 11, 2014, the player officially signed a four-year contract, with the option to extend / terminate after the second or third season with the Turkish club Fenerbahce-Ulker [14] [15] . For four years, Bogdanovich will receive 3.5 million euros , and the former team will receive 1.3 million, since at the time of the transition he was a player in Partizan [16] .

July 13, 2017 signed a contract with the Sacramento Kings [17] .

Bogdanovich was recognized by the Serbian Federation as the “Best Player” in 2017, having won the Euroleague and the Turkish Championship as part of Fenerbahce, and also helped the Serbian team to take second place at Eurobasket 2017 [18] .

International

Bogdanovich began to play for the national team of Serbia as part of the youth team under 19 years old, with which he won silver medals at the 2011 World Championship Basketball Championship among youth teams in Latvia [19] . On average, he scored 8.9 points and made 5 rebounds [20] . He played in the national team of Serbia at the 2013 European Championships in Slovenia . The tournament scored an average of 9.4 points, made 4.3 rebounds and gave 2 assists per match [21] [22] .

He helped the Serbian national team at the 2014 World Cup in Spain , where the team won silver medals. Especially a young basketball player was successful in a knockout round against the national teams of Greece , Brazil and France , as a result of the tournament Bogdanovich gained an average of 12 points, made 2.4 rebounds, gave 2.8 assists with a percentage of hits of 47%.
