Biography

Peter Sinchukov was born on July 11, 1920 in Gomel . After finishing nine grades of the school he worked as an accountant. In January 1940, Sinchukov was called up for service in the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army . In 1943 he graduated from the Tambov Military Aviation Pilot School. Since December of the same year - on the fronts of World War II [1] .

By March 1945, the senior lieutenant Pyotr Sinchukov commanded the link of the 75th Guards Assault Air Regiment ( 1st Guards Assault Air Division , 1st Air Force , 3rd Belorussian Front ). By that time, he had made 119 sorties to attack clusters of military equipment and manpower, inflicting heavy losses [1] .

By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of April 19, 1945, for “bravery and courage shown in bombing and assaulting the enemy” of the guard, senior lieutenant Pyotr Sinchukov was awarded the high rank of Hero of the Soviet Union with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Gold Star medal number 6213 [1] .

After the war, Sinchukov continued his service in the Soviet Army. In 1954, he graduated from the Air Force Academy . In 1956, with the rank of Major, Sinchukov was transferred to the reserve. He returned to Gomel. He died on October 10, 1987. [1]

Awards

He was also awarded three orders of the Red Banner , the Order of Alexander Nevsky , two orders of the Patriotic War of the 1st degree and a number of medals [1] .

Memory

  • On the building of secondary school No. 16 in the city of Gomel, a memorial plaque to the hero was installed, materials about the life and exploits of P. S. Sinchukov were collected in the school museum.
  • The name of P. S. Sinchukov, immortalized on the stele of the Alley of Heroes in Gomel.
