Urethroscope

Urethroscope

Urethroscopy (from the ancient Greek. Οὐρήθρα - urethra and σκοπέω - I am considering) - a device designed to diagnose and treat the female and male urethra, under visual observation of various medical procedures and simple intraurethral operations. Desormo (AJ Desormeaux) in 1853 first introduced the urethroscope [1] .

The urethroscope, consisting of hollow metal tubes, an optical system, equipped with a lighting system with optical fibers, provides illumination of objects with “cold light” from any Russian illuminators and illuminators of the German firms R Wolf and K. Storz, as well as the Japanese firm Olympus.

UR-VS-1 urethroscope

The UR-BC-combined urethroscope and the combined UR-BC-1 urethroscope combined (basic) differ in their configuration. The small (basic) kit does not include a handle for women's tubes, a 27Sh tube for women with an obturator and a 23Sh tube for women with an obturator, a cotton holder and a brush. Thus, the combined urethroscope UR-BC-1 is suitable for examining both men and women, the standard urethroscope is intended only for men .
