Biography
He was born on January 28, 1915 in a peasant family in the village of Dzegvi, Mtskheta region of the Republic of Georgia . Georgian. Graduated from 5 classes. He worked as a team leader on a collective farm.
In the Red Army since 1939. At the front in World War II from September 1941. Member of the CPSU (b) / CPSU since 1941.
The gunner of the 399th howitzer artillery regiment, Corporal Grigory Suramelashvili in the area of the village of Patev, located south of the Polish city of Sandomir, during fierce battles from 2 to 4 August 1944, repelled several enemy counterattacks, knocking out a heavy tank, two armored personnel carriers, destroying a significant amount , and kept the occupied line.
