Biography
He was born on October 15, 1923 in the village of Novopavlovka, Pervomaisky district, Nikolaev region of Ukraine . Ukrainian. He graduated from 7 classes, courses of machine operators. He worked as a tractor driver at MTS in the village of Bandurka in the same region.
With the outbreak of World War II, he remained in the occupied territory. Participated in the partisan movement in the Kirovograd region . He himself contacted the partisans, became one of the best scouts in the sabotage group, in which he was presented for his first award - the medal "For Military Merit".
The Blagodatnovsky RVC, Ukrainian SSR , Odessa Region , the Blagodatnovsky District and in the battles of the Great Patriotic War from March 1944 were called up for the Red Army . He fought as part of the 108th Guards Rifle Regiment of the 36th Guards Rifle Division , became the commander of the calculation of the Maxim machine gun. He liberated southern Ukraine and Moldova, and fought with Romania and Hungary .
On August 23, 1944, in the battles for dominant heights near the village of Buda, the calculation of the guard of senior sergeant Chabanov put down 2 firing points and destroyed more than 10 foot soldiers. He lived in the city of Tuapse, Krasnodar Territory . Prior to retirement, he worked in a militarized guard on the railway.
