Sergei Timofeevich Berezhnoy (May 1, 1927 - March 20, 1988) - foreman of assembly fitters for the installation of power plants of the Zaliv shipbuilding plant named after B. Butoma, Hero of Socialist Labor .

Biography
Born May 1, 1927 in the village of Nagolnoy, Voronezh region . Then he moved with his parents to the village of Novaya Ivanovka, Nizhnegorsky district, and in 1952 to the city of Kerch, Autonomous Republic of Crimea. Member of the CPSU since 1960.
In May 1945, he completed the courses of junior commanders and was awarded the medal "For the victory over Germany."
He began his career at the Zaliv factory in 1952 as a apprentice shipbuilder. Participated in the post-war reconstruction of the plant. In March 1953, the qualification of a top-level installer was awarded. In 1955, he was sent on a Komsomol ticket to restore the mines of Donbass. In 1958 he returned to the Zaliv factory. Since 1968 - foreman of assembly fitters for installation of power plants.
Over the years of his work in the machine assembly shop of the plant, he performed the most responsible work. For the first time in the country, the team of S. T. Berezhnoy mastered and introduced the installation technology of the main ship’s turbines, taking an active part in the development of the construction of “Crimea” type supertankers.
For several years in a row S. T. Berezhnoy was elected a deputy of the city council, entrusted with protecting the rights of workers in the regional Council of People’s Deputies, was a member of the party committee of the plant, city committee and Crimean regional committee of the Communist Party of Ukraine .
By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of April 26, 1971, Sergei Timofeevich was awarded the title of Hero of Socialist Labor for the early completion of the tasks of the eighth five-year plan.
Berezhny’s great social and mentoring work was marked by the golden badge of the Central Committee of the Komsomol “Mentor of Youth”, the title of laureate of the prize named after N. Biryukov of the regional committee of the Komsomol. In 1972 he became an honorary citizen of the year, the hero of Kerch. He was elected a delegate to the 26th Congress of the Communist Party of Ukraine .
He died on March 20, 1988.
He was awarded two Orders of Lenin , the Order of the Red Banner of Labor .
