Biography

He was born on October 7, 1929 in the village of Borovsky in the Aleisk district of the Barnaul district of the Siberian region (currently the Aleisk region of the Altai region ). In 1948 he entered, and in 1953 he graduated from the Tomsk Polytechnic Institute, mechanical faculty.

In the Armed Forces of the USSR since 1953. In 1954 he graduated with honors from the F.E.Dzerzhinsky Military Academy. He served in missile units, at the 4th State Central Testing Ground of the USSR Ministry of Defense as an engineer, senior test engineer, senior test officer, and lead test engineer. From 1963 to 1984 he served at the 53rd Research Test Site as Deputy Head of Department, Head of Department, Deputy Head of Testing Department. Since 1976, Colonel Yesenkov is the head of the test department.

The main direction of his testing and research activities is related to ensuring quality control of construction and installation works, carrying out autonomous and complex tests of technological equipment, technical systems and structures; organization, conduct and evaluation of the results of flight design and state tests of missile and space-rocket complexes. For 30 years, he participated in combat crews, launch complexes for the preparation and launch of about 300 rockets and the launch of about 600 launch vehicles with spacecraft of various types and purposes.

By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of February 21, 1978 for great achievements in the development of armaments and military equipment and in connection with the 60th anniversary of the Soviet Army and Navy, Colonel Yesenkov Sergei Vasilievich was awarded the title Hero of Socialist Labor with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Gold Medal "Hammer and sickle".

In 1984, he was appointed head of the department at the 50th Central Research Institute of the Ministry of Defense. In 1987, he was discharged into the reserve by age. Since 1989 - retired.

He continued to work at the institute until 1992. He lived in the city of Yubileiny, Moscow Region . He died on December 31, 2008. He was buried in the Walk of Fame of the Nevzorovsky cemetery.

Laureate of the USSR State Prize. Honorary radio operator of the USSR. Honored Tester of Russian space technology.

Colonel He was awarded the orders of Lenin , Red Star , medals.
