Lucius Apronius ( Latin: Lucius Apronius ; died after 29 years ) - an ancient Roman military and statesman.
He came from the estate of horsemen ; his father or grandfather, presumably, could be Mark Apronius , a Pompeyan from the time of the Civil War and ally of Quinkius Scapula , a participant in the battle of Mund . He began his civil service with the post of triumph at the Mint . In the year 8 BC e. became consul-suffect (along with Aulus Vibius Gabit). In the year 9 he was appointed imperial legate in Dalmatia.
In the year 14, he fought with the Germans under the command of Druze, the son of Tiberius, against the rebelled Pannonian legions. In 14 and 15, he commanded a part of the army subordinate to Germanicus. There, he successfully fought against the Hutt tribe, for which he received the right to triumph.
In the year 18 e. Received the position of proconsul in the province of Africa Since the year 20, he has successfully fought against Takfarinat , the leader of the rebelled Numidians. At 21, he returned to Rome. In the year 23, the emperor again sent him to Africa to help Lucius Lamia. In the years 28-29, Lucius Apronius was imperial legate prophetor of the province of Lower Germany. Defeated the friezes in the year 28 at the Battle of Badugen. His further fate is unknown. His son was the consul of 39 years Lucius Apronius Caesian .
