Biography

Sahibzhamal Gizzatullina-Volzhskaya was born in Kazan in 1892. In 1907 she joined the troupe of Ilyasbek Ashkazarsky , and in 1912 organized the Tatar troupe of the first Nur theater in Ufa, which is inherited by the modern Nur theater . This troupe broke up in the difficult years of the Civil War in Russia , and Sahibzhamal became the leader of the 6th frontline troupe of the 2nd Army of the Eastern Front of the Red Army . After the end of the Civil War, Sahibzhamal worked in drama theater groups in Izhevsk and Kazan . In 1923 she performed in the Bashkir Drama Theater .

Sahibzhamal Gizzatullina-Volzhskaya was known as an actress of a realistic direction. She performed such roles as Louise ( F. Schiller “ Deceit and Love ”), Trilby (play by G. Ge based on the novel by J. Dumore ), Marianne ( J. Moliere , “ Miser ”). She also played bright roles of Shafiki (debut role, 1907 after N. Kemal , “Miserable Child”), Sarbi ( G. Kamal , “Licentiousness”), Bibi (Z. Seid-Zade, “Unhappy Bibizhikhan”), Katerina ( A. N. Ostrovsky , " Thunderstorm ").

In the Bashkir Drama Theater, she played the roles of Zuleikha ( KG Tinchurin , “Yusuf and Zuleikha”), Sarbi (F. Burnash, “Young Hearts”).

As a director, she turned to heroic-romantic, tragic works, depicting large and strong feelings: the plays “Youth”, “Uneven” ( F. Amirkhan ), “Zuleikha” ( G. Iskhaki ), etc.

The Tatar writer, poet and playwright Naki Isanbet dedicated the play “Guldjamal” ( tat. Gulgamal ) to the life and work of Sahibjamal Gizzatullina-Volzhskaya. She lived in Kazan on K. Marx Street, 60 [1] . She died in Chistopol in 1974

She was buried in Kazan at the Tatar cemetery in the Novo-Tatar settlement.
