Biography

Born July 17, 1912 in the city of Nizhny Novgorod [1] . Tatar. He graduated from 7 classes.

In 1938, he moved with his family to the city of Omsk. He worked in Omsk at a factory, in a warehouse, then as a seller [1] .

In the Red Army since June 1941, from the same time on the front as an ordinary shooter [1] .

In one of the battles he was seriously wounded, but returned to duty again [1] .

The shooter of the 1st rifle company of the 375th rifle regiment, Red Army soldier Yakov Shakurov, on July 19, 1944, with a group of soldiers led by senior sergeant Akhmetgalin H.R., while fighting in an encirclement near the village of Rundeny in the Ludza district of Latvia, held a tactically important height with a mark of “144 , 0 ”at the village of Sunuplyava before the reinforcements approach. He died in this battle. He was buried in the park of the city of Ludza.

Rewards

By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of March 24, 1945, for the exemplary performance of combat missions of command and the courage and heroism shown to this, Red Army soldier Shakurov Yakov Savelyevich was posthumously awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union .

He was awarded the Order of Lenin .

Memory
