Kasym Abuovich Asanov , another variant of the name is Karim [1] ( Kazakh. Kasim Kubuly Asanov ; January 1, 1931 , Uter aul, Kurmangazinsky district , Kyrgyz Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic , RSFSR , USSR - May 12, 2006 ) —Kazakhstani pasture scientist, Hero of Socialist Labor (1965). Academician of the Academy of Agricultural Sciences (1988). Academician of the National Academy of Kazakhstan (1996). For the first time in Kazakhstan, he began to engage in scientific research and production work on the development and cultivation of pastures and hayfields. He founded the first arboretum in Kazakhstan and Central Asia.

Biography
Born on January 1, 1931 in the village of Utera (today - Birlik) in the Kurmangazinsky district, the Kyrgyz Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic. Father - Abu Asanov worked as a captain of a fishing vessel in the Caspian, then director of a state farm.
He spent his teenage years in the village of Taskala, Balykshin district, Guryev region . In 1947 he graduated from the Kazakh Agricultural Institute . Since 1952, he worked as a chief specialist at the Mangistau RSHI. In 1953 he graduated from the K.A. Timiryazev Moscow Agricultural Academy . In the same year he joined the Communist Party.
In 1955, he was appointed director of the Chilik Tobacco Farm in the Alma-Ata region. In 1965, he was elected chairman of the collective farm named after the XXII Congress of the CPSU Taldy-Kurgan District of Taldy-Kurgan Region , replacing Hero of Socialist Labor Nurmold Aldabergenov . He was chairman of the collective farm until 1969.
Sugar beet yield increased to 529 centners per hectare. In 1965, the collective farm fulfilled the plan by 132%. For high performance in agriculture, Kasym Asanov was awarded the title of Hero of Socialist Labor in 1965.
In 1966, the collective farm named after the XXII Congress of the CPSU increased the area of sugar beets to 1080 hectares and collected 471 centners per hectare. In 1966, the collective farm collected 467.5 thousand centners of sugar beet with a plan of 415 thousand centners. Milk yield from a cow amounted to 2987 kg. For high performance, the collective farm named after the XXII Congress of the CPSU under the leadership of Kasym Asanov was awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor. As the director of a collective farm, he was elected a deputy of the Chimkent Regional Council of People's Deputies and a member of the plenum of the Chimkent Regional Committee of the CPSU.
From 1969 to 1973, a senior research fellow at the Moscow Agricultural Academy, in which in 1972 he defended his thesis for the degree of Doctor of Science. From 1973 to 1987, director of the Chimkent experimental station, director of the Chimkent state farm technical school. He founded a dendrological park in Chimkent, which today includes more than 210 thousand species of plants. From 1987 to 2003, the director of the research and production association "Feed and Pasture".
In 1988 he was elected an academician of the Agricultural Academy. Since 2003, the main researcher at the Scientific-Production Center under the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan. On the initiative of Kasym Asanov, the design and construction organization “Kazpastribe” was recreated.
He died on May 12, 2006.
The daughters of Jamila and Denmark are candidates of biological sciences.
