Biography

He was born on December 26, 1923 in the village of Malaya Kandala, now in the Staromainsky District, Ulyanovsk Region, into a peasant family. He graduated from 8 classes. He worked as an accountant.

He was drafted into the Red Army in 1941 by the Malokandalinsky District Military Commissariat of the Ulyanovsk Region . At the front in World War II from December 1941. Member of the CPSU (b) since 1944.

The commander of the machine-gun platoon of the 444th Infantry Regiment, Senior Lieutenant Alexei Titov, distinguished himself in defensive battles for holding the bridgehead on the left bank of the Narev River. In the period from October 4 to October 8, 1944, Senior Lieutenant Titov with the soldiers of the unit entrusted to him repelled over thirty enemy attacks and kept the occupied line.

By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of March 24, 1945, for the exemplary performance of the combat missions of the command and the courage and heroism shown to this, Lieutenant Titov Alexei Fedorovich was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union .

In one of the battles during the offensive in East Prussia, the commander of a machine-gun platoon of a separate training rifle company of the 108th Bobruisk Order of Lenin of the rifle division, Senior Lieutenant A. Titov, died on January 24, 1945. He was buried in the colony Ludwigdorf [1] .

He was awarded the orders of Lenin , World War 1 and 2 degrees, Red Star .

In the village of Malaya Kandala, Staromaynsky district, Ulyanovsk region, a monument to the Hero was erected, and on the Heroes Alley in the regional center - the urban village of Staraya Maina - a bust .
